CBI at The Robert Sonny Hill Community Center
Yesterday, we closed out the RISE Leadership Academy and RISE Industry Sector summer programs and WOW were we blown away by what our Site Coordinators, Mentors, and scholars accomplished over the last several weeks!!🤗 We have SO much to report on our Rising Stars’ many accomplishments so make sure you follow us on all platforms and subscribe to our newsletters so you don’t miss a thing! Here’s a little preview… #MeetMeAtTheCenter🌟Our 7th and 8th grade Leadership Academy spent the summer with Ms Britnee Mr Isaiah working on team building, STEAM activities, developing their leadership skills, learning about mental health, preparing for high school, and going on fun and educational field trips!🌟 9th and 10th grade Leadership Academy with Dr. Anisha Daniels did a lot of social emotional learning and mentoring. They frequented the Robert ‘Sonny’ Hill Community Center to volunteer with the younger students in RISE Summer Camp. They loved working with Envision Partnerships and Catalyst Training Group. Students visited Downtown Middletown businesses to see all the ins and outs of running a store and took an in-depth tour of the City Building. We’re always grateful for the City’s support and appreciate Mayor Slamka for attending yesterday’s ceremonies!🌟 Last, but never least, our Industry Sector (11th and 12th grade) students spent the summer being mentored and encouraged by Jeanita Cummings who secured various internships and job shadowing opportunities for every student in the program. We had students working at City of Middletown, Ohio, Atrium Medical Center, Todd Homes LLC, Middletown YMCA, Cranes Consumables, Forest Hills Country Club- just to name a few. The relationships that were built are priceless. Congratulations to our scholarship winners! ... See MoreSee Less
