The Community Building Institute is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Middletown, Ohio. Our pillars are early education [Parent Resource Center, Family Zone], out-of-school enrichment [RISE Afterschool Program, RISE Summer Camp, RISE Leadership Academy], family engagement [The Robert ‘Sonny’ Hill Community Center], and workforce development [RISE Industry Sector Program]. Butler County’s Black infant mortality rate improved from 13.7 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2023 to 7.7 in 2025. That progress is meaningful, but Black babies continued to experience the county’s highest racial disparity.
